What makes us different

Two things worth knowing about us

01

Nature is part of everyday life

Children are outdoors in nature every day — whatever the weather or season. They grow vegetables in the Children's Garden, eat outdoor lunches by the fire pit, and treat the forest as a natural playground. Our parent cooperative was founded in 1988, in a Falu-red village school from the 1850s with the forest right at its doorstep.

02

Siblings keep their hours

If you go on parental leave for a new sibling, your older child keeps their 40 hours a week with us — instead of being cut to 15 hours, as is common at most preschools. One less thing to sort out when you already have a lot going on.

Nature

Children spend a lot of time outdoors in our large yard, grow vegetables in the Children's Garden, and play in the forest right at our doorstep. Being outside through every season is simply part of everyday life.

The Cooperative

Parents help run the preschool together with the staff. The basic requirement is small — just the odd hour or so per term — and you contribute what you can and want to. Over the years, many parents have chosen to get more involved, which is a big part of what makes the preschool so good for the children.

Food

All meals are cooked from scratch by our own cook, as organic and locally sourced as possible. At least one vegetarian lunch is served every week, and we accommodate special diets.
